Our Partnership with MASTA

Introduction

Welcome to the MASTA clinic in Nottingham.

MASTA are the leading private travel clinic in the UK with over 25 sites. Starting over 20 years ago it has developed to provide accurate and appropriate advice to travellers whose itineries are increasingly diverse and complex.

The University of Nottingham Health Service (which is also locally known as the Cripps Health Centre) has also developed a special expertise locally in terms of travel medicine. Large numbers of staff and students of The University of Nottingham often undertake prolonged and remote trips and the service has developed to meet this need.

Led by Dr Hugh Porter (who has a masters degree in travel medicine, been elected a member of the recently founded Faculty of Travel Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, as well as being a member of the International Society of Travel Medicine (ISTM) and British Travel Health Association (BTHA)) the team have a real enthusiasm (as well as a wealth of experience) for travel medicine.

It therefore seemed appropriate that in 2006 these two organisations should team up to open a MASTA travel clinic in Nottingham, with the aim of offering a leading travel clinic service to all travellers within the region.
