NHS Nottingham City Urgent Care Centre
The new NHS Urgent Care Centre will open from 1st October 2015. The aim will be to provide a tier of provision between Primary Care and the Emergency Department to increase the number of patients who are seen outside of hospital for urgent but non-life threatening conditions and decrease the number of attendances at the Emergency Department.
The new service will provide high quality assessment, diagnosis and treatment of urgent but non-life threatening conditions, including the provision of on-site urgent diagnostic X-ray.
Urgent Care Centre X- ray The service will provide onsite X-ray for urgent diagnosis for patients who present to the Urgent Care Centre with suspected fracture. GPs should continue to use existing pathways for direct access X-ray referral.
Appropriate management and treatment of simple fractures will be provided onsite
Protocols will be in place with NUH fracture clinic for follow up or treatment of complex fracture
