Breast examinationBreast cancer

Breast cancer is a very common cancer in women and one of the most common cancer-related causes of death. It has a better prognosis the earlier it is detected and so for many years, women have been encouraged to examine themselves.

This should start at a young age so that women are familiar with their own bodies and the changes that happen cyclically. It is not often that a young woman will find a change and even then with further exploration an innocent cause is often found.

Only 20% of breast cancer occurs in women below the age of 50, and much of that would be between 40 and 50. However, all women should be aware of the information in the following site: http://hosted.aware.easynet.co.uk/info/bse.htm
